The Department of Solid Waste and Watershed Programs proposed a new contract pertaining to the requirements of landfill inspection services throughout Washington County.
The inspectors will be utilized on an “as needed” basis with no guarantee of minimum or maximum number of hours or testing procedures. Deputy Director of Solid Waste David Mason explained exactly what the parameters of the new proposal would entail.
“With every job that we need them, we will ask them for a proposal for each job,” Mason said.
The services under this contract will consist of providing inspection services for landfill related construction projects, such as:
- Sanitary landfill floor construction
- Landfill capping
- Leachate collection systems
- Leachate storage tanks
- Gas collection systems
- Sediment basins
- Leachate collection pump station construction
- Building construction inspection
- Mechanical and electrical systems
- Monitoring wells
The Washington County Board of County Commissioners approved the request Tuesday morning.
