Washington County will move forward with the Marsh Pike Sidewalk Extension project.
According to county officials, the project is expected to improve the safety of children in the area that there’s usually high foot traffic of children.
Marsh Pike sits along Paramount Elementary School. The project involves an installation of 600ft. linear sidewalk and curb.
Residents should expect daily lane closures, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.to 2:30 p.m. around June.
Funding for the extension comes through the federal grant, Transportation Alternatives Program – Safe Routes to School. According to Scott Hobbs of Washington County’s Division of Engineering, the project is expected to be completed by September 2019.
