Winter is coming a little sooner than anticipated as road crews in Washington County prepare for the first snowfall of the season.
Road crews in Washington County are constantly checking the weather radar to see when exactly the snow will be coming. They are also getting their trucks cleaned up and ready to go for the journey they have ahead of them.
A Washington County highway official, Ed Plank, says they may need some help from residents in order to make their jobs easier to plow the roads.
“Keep your vehicles off the street, don’t park in the streets if you have a driveway. If you don’t have to go out tomorrow and it’s icy, please stay off the roads, it’s pretty much common sense, slow down,” said Plank.
Washington County road crews will be out ready to salt the streets as soon as they see the first drop of snow. They will be monitoring conditions all night.
