The Washington County Historical Society is offering free admission for federal employees and their families.
Federal employees missed their first paycheck due to the government shutdown. So, the Historical Society is allowing government employed families to visit for free. Curator Anna Ceuto explains that the Historical Society came up with the idea to make those employees lives a little easier.
“We want to make sure that during this time life is a little bit easier because we keep hearing about how hard it is for people.” said Ceuto. “Now, as of today they are missing out on paychecks so we want to give them a little but of relief. So, we decided that while the shutdown was going on we wanted to give them free family admission for up to four people here at the Miller House.”
Federal employees must simply show their photo ID and their family can enter for free.
