The Washington County Board of Commissioners announced four road projects on Tuesday during the Making Connections Ceremony.
They unveiled the first project which will be dubbed Crayton Boulevard Extended. Crayton Boulevard will connect to Showalter Road and provide an access point to Hagerstown Regional Airport.
County officials say as part of the Crayton Boulevard Project, there will be more bus stops, sidewalks and commercial businesses.
“Trammel Crow is a company … they’re interested in purchasing a 1.2 million speculative building so that has lots of different opportunities but it could bring four to six-hundred jobs,” said Washington County official Susan Small.
Emergency services will also benefit from this extension by having alternate routes when accidents on the roads occur.
Other connection projects happening around Washington County include Professional Boulevard, Halfway Boulevard and Colonel Henry K. Boulevard off of Sharpsburg Pike.
