UPDATE: One hospitalized after Frederick shooting

UPDATE: A release from the Frederick Police Department said that police responded to the Unit Block of Pendleton Court at around 10:14 a.m. for a report of a firearm. Witnesses said that one person had been struck in the lower body.

The victim arrived at Frederick Health Hospital shortly afterwards with a gunshot wound, where he was treated before being transported to another trauma center. Police say the victim’s current status is unknown.

FREDERICK, Md. (WDVM) — The Frederick Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital Tuesday morning around 10:41 am, in the area of Pendleton Court.

Officials say the shooter is still at large and is described as a black male with a black sweatshirt. Police suspect that the victim and shooter know each other, and do not believe the community is in danger.

The number of shots fired has not been disclosed by police but 3 bullets reportedly landed on a parked vehicle that was unrelated to either of the parties.
