Montgomery County detectives have released surveillance footage of a robbery which happened last month in Bethesda.
A woman was driven home by a man she believed to a driver for a ride-sharing service. The suspect, who did not actually work for a legitimate service, demanded payment.
He followed her into her apartment building elevator where he then tried to steal her purse. The suspect then followed the victim into her apartment home and proceeded to steal some of her property. The woman claims she had already paid for the ride through the app.
Crime Solvers are offering a reward up to $10,000 for any information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Crimes Divison at 240-773-5100. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call 1-866-411-8477.
Authorities urge everyone to be careful when using ride apps.
