Second body found in Potomac River

Two bodies were found in the Potomac River just south of the Shepherdstown Bridge on November 18 and 19.

According to the Maryland Natural Resources Police, they received a report of a capsized boat in the river around 10:18 a.m. on Sunday. Upon investigation, Susan King, a 62-year-old from Keedysville, Maryland was found dead.

On Monday morning, the Department of Emergency Services of Washington County and Potomac Valley Fire & Rescue found the body of Susan’s husband, David King, 63.

“Deputy from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department that was directing traffic in the JFK 50 that was going on, the Altra marathon in the area, he spoke to those people when they were launching their boat about 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon,” said Brian Albert, of the Maryland Natural Resources Police.

The Kings’ vehicle and boat trailer were found at the Dam 4 parking lot.
