Rockwool concerns reach Washington County

Maryland

The controversial Rockwool factory was a topic of discussion during a Washington County Commissioners meeting this week.

After writing a letter of opposition, organizers from different groups asked commissioners to give a consensus for their efforts to stop construction from happening.

According to the letter, Rockwool would produce hazardous air pollution in West Virginia.

“Sending a letter may seem like an insignificant thing to do but it shows that Washington County is as concerned about this threat as others,” said Sierra Club’s Douglas Arnall.
