The wife of Washington County Commissioner President Terry Baker has dismissed a protective order against him in District Court on Thursday.
Katrina Baker filed the order earlier in July after claiming domestic violence charges against her husband. Since she chose to dismiss the petition, the case is ending in a property agreement as they’re looking towards divorce. Although there will be no protective order, Katrina stands by her claims of domestic violence while Terry Baker and his lawyer deny these claims.
“At this point, it’s between husband and wife. People have disagreements all the time. They file for divorce all the time. We now have a separation agreement. It’s a fair separation agreement, but the protective order petition is dismissed and it’s time to move forward,” said Bruce Poole, his attorney.
Terry Baker is running for re-election as County Commissioner president, but makes no comment as to how this case will affect voters’ decision.
