You have probably seen blue bows and ribbons tied around light posts and trees throughout the city of Hagerstown, but do you know what they are for?

According to Child Help, each year, more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and folks in Hagerstown are dedicated to raising awareness of this issue.

These blue decorations are part of an effort to show support for child abuse prevention- an initiative called “paint the town blue.”
