CLEAR SPRING, Md. (WDVM) — A woman is injured after a crash on I-70 eastbound Friday morning in the Clear Spring area, Maryland State Police in Hagerstown said. The road was closed at Exit 18 around 8 a.m.

According to the investigation, Penny Upton, 45, of Hancock, Maryland made an unsafe lane change and struck another car, driven by 30-year-old Kayla Stanley of Martinsburg, West Virginia. Upton lost control after the collision and overturned off the right side of the roadway, police said.

Upton was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma. Her 19-year-old passenger is being treated at Meritus Medical Center for minor injuries. Police said Stanley was not injured.

Troopers didn’t have an estimate for when the road would re-open.
