National Active Aging Week promoting wellness for seniors

Maryland

There is only one more day left in the National Active Aging week, promoting wellness and activity for seniors.

This week the Senior Center at Washington County’s Commission on Aging introduced a foot reflexology path giving its senior members another means of exercise.

The Senior Center has a plethora of options for its members from tai chi classes to yoga.
Head of the Senior Center says they consider every week as National Active Aging week.

“We do health education on a routine basis, evidence based classes, stepping on living well with chronic disease, diabetes focused, but all of those have a component of fitness that go along with them, and remaining healthy, and it’s really about improving quality of life,” said Amy Olack.

The Senior Center is free for people ages 55 and up.
