Montgomery County officers responded to a man wielding a knife at vehicles


Montgomery County police took a man into custody for wielding a knife in Bethesda on Sunday a little before 7 p.m.

Officers responded to the intersection of Rockville Pike and Grosvenor Lane for several reports of a man with a blanket wrapped around his head swinging a knife at approaching vehicles. Officers tased the man and took him into custody safely without injury to anyone involved.

The man was evaluated at a local hospital and was found to have a history of mental illnesses and took amphetamines prior to the incident.
