BOONSBORO, Md. - In Boonsboro, many came out for the Twilight Tour &Tasting event.
Participants came in as early as 4 p.m. to the Washington County Agricultural Education Center. Those in attendance got to sample dishes made from lamb and chevon, also known as goat meat. There were also vendors there handing out cheese samples. Many there got to take part in the wine tasting and enjoyed an enlightened conversation about how to match wines with meats and cheeses.
"How many people do you know have tried goat meat, how many people do you know do you know have tried sheep cheese. So it's to expose them to new things, and to also let them know what's going on in the county, with the university and the research and kind of an opportunity to learn and to have some good food," said Susan Schoenian, a sheep and goat specialist from the University of Maryland Extension.
This is the fourth year the Twilight Tour & Tasting event has taken place.
