Main Street Hagerstown, a downtown revitalization program, was created by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development in 2014.
The program is always looking for volunteers, especially because it only has 10 to 15 volunteers that are consistently available. About 50 volunteers come and go at a time.
Volunteer duties include event planning, set up and tear down, promotion, market surveys and advertisements.
“It’s a great downtown, it’s got a lot of good bones and vibrancy and it’s really up and coming,” said Downtown Coordinator Amanda Whitmore of Hagerstown. “You are going to be a part of that movement to bring back a lot of the enhancements and life to the downtown.”
