Impaired driver arrested after crashing into a tree

An Allegany County man is facing charges of driving under the influence and a few other traffic citations after a police pursuit that ended with the man crashing his car into a tree. 

31-year-old Forest L. Mongold of Cresaptown, Maryland was driving south on Route 220 late last night, when a Maryland State Trooper noticed he was driving recklessly at high speeds.

According to the Troopers, Mongold was trying to flee and elude the officers, until he crashed and hit a tree. 

Mongold denied any medical attention and was immediately taken to the Cumberland Barrack where he was charged on traffic citations before being taken to the Commissioner.
