Washington County’s Health Department hosted its Healthy Families Open House Friday afternoon.
Healthy Families Program’s goal is to support new parents in their new and exciting phase of life as they plan for parenthood. However, the program also extends into professional education, transportation to events and activities for you to enjoy teaching while bonding with your new child.
“When you’re a first-time mom, there’s a lot of support that you don’t know you need,” said Program Participant Alanna Molloi. “A lot of the curriculum you learn in this program is similar to what you would learn in school, but it kind of reaches beyond that cause it also hits on the emotional portion that you wouldn’t learn in school for yourself.”
Any Washington County resident who is a parent of a child or is expecting is more than welcome to come, but the program is free for any resident.
