Hagerstown Salvation Army provides coats to community

Maryland

The Hagerstown Salvation Army is presenting its first winter coat drive in November.

From November 6 to 9 at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Hagerstown Salvation Army invites those in need of a coat to visit its location. Organizers managed to collect more than 500 coats for distribution.

Residents wanting to receive a coat must bring a valid form of identification along with them. While giving the gift of warmth, officials are happy to give back to the community. One Hagerstown woman is excited to now have a coat.

“It really touches me because I can’t really afford a coat as of yet and they’re (coats) nice,” said Diane Berry.
