Residential building damaged by gunshot on E Franklin St

Maryland

Suspect remains at large

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (WDVM) — Hagerstown City Police responded to reports of multiple shots being fired in the Central Parking Lot early Thursday afternoon.

At 12:40 p.m., witnesses around Central Lot reported seeing an unidentified black male suspect firing multiple shots as he walked towards East Franklin Street. According to police, it seems that the suspect then shot one single round at a residential building before fleeing the scene.

“We’re not sure if he was shooting at any particular person or not, we located shell casings in the unit block of East Franklin Street and also shell casings in the Central Lot,” said Lieutenant Mark Renner.

Police identified the suspect as a black male, who they said drove off in an orange vehicle. No injuries were reported and the investigation is still ongoing.

This is a developing story.
