Hagerstown officials are discussing upgrading the holiday light display at City Park

The city of Hagerstown is discussing upgrading the lighting at City Park for the holiday season.
Rodney Tissue, Hagerstown city engineer, presented three proposals to the mayor and council. The first proposal is to have five large tree-shaped decorations out on the lake set to music.
The second option includes moving the static silhouettes, that are usually stationed near the museum, across the park, so visitors can see them better while driving.
The last proposal would be to put up lights in the trees that could potentially be used year-round.
“The display that’s been out there has been that way for decades, and you know, I think it’s time for it to be upgraded. City Park is absolutely the crown jewel of our community and it is worthy of a better light display,” said Tissue.
Many on the council were in favor of the first and third proposal. There’s even talk about potentially having all three proposals as well.
