Hagerstown man hospitalized after losing control of car, goes over embankment

Maryland

A Hagerstown man was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after losing control of his car, going over an embankment in Washington County, Maryland.

The driver, identified as Joshua Waiters, 30, was traveling on Frederick Street into Funkstown when authorities say he left the roadway and went over the embankment.

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies say they responded to the crash around 2:30 a.m.

Waiters was flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

While the investigation is ongoing, sheriff’s deputies say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
