Hagerstown man arrested for bringing gun into BWI Airport

Maryland

A Hagerstown man was arrested at Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport for trying to bring a gun onto an airplane.

According to Transportation Security Administration (TSA), a .40 caliber rifle was detected by a TSA officer when 22-year-old Ryan Moore’s luggage entered the x-ray machine. Moore claimed that he did not know about the gun because his mother packed his bag.

This marks the 20th gun caught at one of the airport checkpoints as of 2018. In 2017, TSA officers detected 26 firearms at the airport’s checkpoints.

Moore has been charged with illegally possessing a firearm, violating airport security procedure and having a weapon in the airport.
