One seriously injured after carjacking in Montgomery County


GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WDVM) — Montgomery County Police are investigating a carjacking that took place Wednesday afternoon in Gaithersburg that left the car’s owner seriously injured.

Police said that the carjacking took place at Wheatstone Glen and Girard Street around 3:45 p.m. 2 male suspect were in an older gold Chevy Malibu when they approached a black Lexus SUV. The owner was injured while attempting to stop the theft and was transported to a local hospital.

Police said that Lexus has Maryland tag 1BP 5636. Anyone with any information is asked to call detectives at (240)773-5070 or crime solvers at 1-866-8477.

Girard Street was initially closed around the time of the carjacking as police responded.
