Garrett County airport in Oakland receives federal funds to expand parking space

Maryland

U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen announced that Garrett County airport in Oakland will receive $300,000 in federal funding from the Department of Transportation.

The senators say these grants are being awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program and will be used to expand the airport’s parking space.

Senator Cardin says with Western Maryland’s reliance on transportation, this grant will allow the airport to expand the number of planes, passengers, and cargo, plus boost the local economy.
