UPDATE: Motorcyclist declared dead at scene of Frederick County crash, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office investigating cause

UPDATE 6:45 p.m. July 3, 2021: The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has identified the motorcyclist who died in a crash in Jefferson on Friday night.

33-year-old Frederick resident Anthony Cilluffo was thrown from his motorcycle after colliding with another car.

Deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at Elmer Derr Road and South Renn Road at around 6:15 on Friday night.

The preliminary investigation states Cilluffo was traveling northeast on Elmer Derr Road and collided with a car that was turning left from South Renn Road onto Elmer Derr Road.

Then, Cilluffo struck the driver’s side of the car and was thrown several feet from his motorcycle. EMS personnel attempted life-saving measures but Cilluffo was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office told WDVM in a written statement: “This is still under investigation and will take our traffic reconstruction unit at least a week or longer to determine fault and issue charges if warranted.”


JEFFERSON, Md. (WDVM) — The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle that took place Friday evening.

Police said to expect a heavy presence around the intersection of Elmer Derr and South Renn Roads while this investigation continues.
