The Washington County Sheriff’s Department cracked down on DUI’s during New Year’s Eve.
The sheriff’s department says, they were surprised at the decreased level of DUI activity over the course of the night and into the new year. They say, last year was higher than this year and they couldn’t have done it without their team of skilled deputies.
Deputy First Class Carly Hose says “comparing last year’s statistics as far as DUI arrests to this year, last year 2016 into 2017 we had three DUI arrests, this year we only had one. Our deputies work very hard, the community is why we are here and to make our community a safer place. We’re going to give it our all and this year I feel we were very successful in doing so.”
The Sheriff’s Department says they will continue to work on their safe driving programs and will do more to help ensure the rate stays low into the coming years. You can click here for more information.
