A tractor trailer driver traveling on Interstate 81 south in Maryland this morning when he saw a man swerving while driving, and decided to help.
Lee Sadler says he was traveling for just about 20 minutes on his morning commute from Chambersburg when he noticed a driver slowing, unable to keep in the lane. This happened near exit eight at Maugansville Road in Washington County.
According to Maryland State Police, the impaired driver was suffering from a medical emergency. Sadler says, he’s just happy to help.
“Assuming that he was driving slow, I knew he wasn’t in control of his car,” said Sadler. “It was just going wherever it wanted to, so once he got over against the guard rail, that’s when I pulled up beside him and pinched him off so he couldn’t go no further.”
Thanks to the quick response from fire and EMS, the driver was taken to the hospital. There were no reported injuries.
