Black Rock Golf Course celebrates 30 years in Hagerstown

Maryland

One Washington County business is celebrating 30 years in the community.

Black Rock Golf Course, located on 20025 Mt. Aetna Road in Hagerstown, is unique to the area for many reasons, but one reason, in particular, is that it is a public golf course. They are open to the public just about any time of year, weather permitting. In an average year, the golf course hosts up to 45 tournaments.

We spoke to one longtime golfer who has been coming to the course for over ten years and is now an employee. “The course has always been in great shape and I’ve played 12, 13 years,” said Ryan Crabtree.

Director of Golf Darrell Whittington credits his team for the upkeep of the community golf course, and adds, “President Clinton has played here five or six times. Condoleezza Rice and different sports figures.”

To celebrate their anniversary, the course will be having special rates all week long, until next Monday. For more information, check out their website here.
