A nearly 20-year plan is coming to reality for Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport.
The community came together Sunday morning for a service, but also shared great news that a new church is about to break ground. Church officials said the Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport was built in the 1800s. Over the years, they felt the need to expand as more people attended.
The expansion will include a fully functioning kitchen as well as more classroom areas.
“We put up this pavilion about three years ago and it was really the catalyst to move us forward with that final step for the first phase of our building. Just really excited to be here today,” said Pastor Mike Bennett, Rehoboth United Methodist Church.
Church officials said they hope the first phase of the project to be completed within 10 months in time for Easter. They expect this to be a $4 million project.
