Saturday kicks off the 11th annual Boonsboro Greenfest
There will be over 200 vendors to promote recycling and green initiatives in the town and community.
Events include an energy zone, a photo contest, a silent auction and live entertainment.
There is something for all ages, including a kid zone with activities and crafts.
The event will include a lot of the same activities and vendors as previous years, but there is a new feature to this year.
“One thing that we are doing this year is we are having a straw challenge, a plastic straw challenge which means no plastic straws at all,” said Laura Schnackenberg, founding member of Greenfest.
“We are using paper straws instead this year,” added Kathy Beeler, the outreach coordinator. “This is a great time to bring the family and come out and enjoy the weekend and the Greenfest,” said Beeler.
Last year over 2,000 people were in attendance, but with sunny weather in the forecast, they are expecting an even bigger crowd this year.
