In honor of Women’s History Month, dozens of businesswomen in Maryland gathered to network and talk strategy.
The annual event was held Wednesday at the Women’s Business Center in Rockville.
The open house encouraged local government officials, sponsors and the business community to bounce ideas off of each other.
The Maryland Women’s Business Center now serves Montgomery, Frederick and Prince George’s Counties. It was initially established to help Montgomery County’s diverse population of women grow enterprises.
“At the end of the day, this is really about us making sure that they have the resources that they need to go be successful as they go through the growth of their business life cycle,” said Kiesha Haughton, Managing Director of Maryland Women’s Business Center.
Entrepreneurs in the area can submit business ideas to the center’s 2017 Start Right Competition and possibly win an award of $5,000.
