Applause filled the conference room at the Universities at Shady Grove Tuesday for five stand-outs in the Montgomery County business community: Kevin Beverly, Norman Dreyfuss, Terry Forde, Cidalia Luis-Akbar and Natalia Luis.
They are top executives in fields ranging from science to construction and health care.
“We’ve been around for over 100 years, and every great community has a great health care system, and we’re just privileged and honored to be a part of that,” said Terry Forde, President, Adventist HealthCare.
Council member Nancy Floreen was excited to see Norman Dreyfuss’ name among the bunch.
“[He’s a] member of the planning board, [a] longtime community member [and] very involved in a lot of community activities,” Floreen said. “I think it was very smart of them to recognize Norman today.”
With keynote speaker Gov. Hogan present, Grossberg Company and Revere Bank’s Business Hall of Fame event was sold out this year.
All net funds from the event go to a scholarship program at the Universities at Shady Grove, this year raising a record amount of $175,000, bringing the total scholarship fund to more than $860,000 over six years.
“The proceeds from this get to go back into scholarships for people coming through this location [and] this school,” Forde said. “They’ll be our future leaders, so I’m glad to be a part of that.”
