Man Charged with Stealing ATM from Paw Paw Bank

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. – A Cumberland man has been charged with grand larceny, after allegedly stealing an entire ATM machine from a bank in Paw Paw.

Scott Heward, 24, was arrested on Wednesday by authorities in Cumberland and Morgan County. He is believed to have stolen the ATM from the Bank of Romney on January 9. 

On Tuesday of this week, the ATM machine was found buried in a yard in Virginia. A warrant was issued for Heward based on information from the investigation and tips from the public.

Heward was placed in the Allegany County Detention Center. The investigation is still ongoing, and if you have any information about the incident, you are asked to call the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office at 304-258-1067.
