WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. – On Thursday evening, members of the Hagerstown African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church gathered at Pangborn Park for a vigil honoring the nine people killed in the recent Charleston shooting.

The small group sang songs and prayed for those affected by the tragedy.

Some church members said this shooting reminded them of the 1963 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Al. where four little girls were killed.
