Police officers responded just before 5 p.m. to the mall and found an adult male with severe knife trauma to his body.
The victim’s attacker is described as a Spanish adult male between the ages of 18 and 24.
Police officials added that there seems to have been an argument of some sort prior to the stabbing.
New details from the investigation suggest that a previous connection does exist between the two men.
“We do know it was not a random event,” said Captain Tom Jordan. “There was some sort of connection and we are still exploring all of the avenues on that. The victim was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries and once he received treatment at the hospital, they were able to stabilize him. So now it is not considered life threatening and the victim will survive the injuries.”
As a safety measure, police have chosen to increase their patrol presence in the area with the mall now especially crowded with holiday shopping traffic.
