West Virginia man arrested for multiple bank robberies

Timothy Byers, 48, of Charles Town, W. Va. is facing many charges

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department has arrested a man who is behind several bank robberies. 

Timothy Byers, 48, of Charles Town, West Virginia is facing many charges including robbery, armed robbery, and theft. 

In April 2018, officers responded to the Capitol One Bank located on West 7th Street for a robbery. Officers were able to use a photo from surveillance video to share with the public. A month later, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office would responsed to an attempted bank robbery. Then days later, a bank robbery would occur in Charles Town, West Virginia. Police officials were able to link Byers to the crimes. 

Byers was arrested by Charles Town Police Department. 

"It is just good cooperative effort information, sharing is important when we share images and we see if we have the same person,” said Lt. Kirk Henneberry with the Frederick Police Department. “We all put our heads together and usually these cases get solve pretty quickly."
