Nonprofit – Warrior Canine Connection, hosted hard hat day which gave locals an inside look at their rebuild project for a new barn to train canines in.
The organization that focuses on animal-assisted therapy for veterans, received a donation from associated general contractors to begin its multi-million-dollar project. Officials say their goal is to expand their programs to help thousands of local veterans in need. The warrior canine connection is currently training 60 dogs.
“For people who have pets that could be pretty difficult and the dogs just give them confidence and the courage to actually do it,” said Rosemary Kraus, Warrior Canine Connection volunteer.
Warrior Canine Connection has helped more than 4,000 veterans.
