The facility met all 35 mandatory standards, officials say, and an additional 310 non-mandatory standards.
Officials say the standards address services, programs and operations, like administrative and fiscal controls, staff training, safety and security, and community relations.
Facility staff says much has been improved within the last year to enhance security, and overall experience for the teen males the facility houses.
“The main physical change we did is we did put in a new locking system on their doors just making the doors more secure. We’ve increased activities exponentially. We have a music program that the boys make music and learn how to create rhymes and beats and everything like that,” explained superintendent at the
