Upper Marlboro man charged for the rape of a 12-year-old

An Upper Marlboro man was arrested and charged with the second-degree rape and third-degree sex offense of a 12-year-old girl.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, James Booker, 59, faces charges stemming from an incident that occurred on May 23.

The victim told detectives she accepted a ride from a man when she was walking home from school during a thunderstorm.

Upon arrival, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim in his parked car. Police identified Booker as the suspect, and he was arrested at his job in Wheaton.
