U.S Senator Chris Van Hollen toured the Flying Dog Brewery in historic Frederick on Saturday afternoon.
Van Hollen met with Flying Dog employees to discuss the busy operations the facilities have been brewing up, as well as looking at how he can support for local businesses in Frederick and Maryland.
“How there business is doing, exactly how it works, what we can do to make sure they can continue to grow and expand and be successful,” said Van Hollen.
Jim Caruso, owner of the Flying Dog Brewery, says “whether it’s with Treason, the Toting Bag company in Baltimore, McCormick’s with Old Bay, the Oyster Recovery Project,” they pride themselves on having wonderful partnerships.
On average the local hot spot packages 125,000 bottles a day and have been in operation for more than 30 years. Caruso says the latest beer they’re working on isn’t until December called ‘Family Drama.’
