An accident on Interstate 270 has left one injured, and police are continuing to search for the driver who caused the accident.
Around 11:30 a.m., a tractor trailer driving off of an I-70 ramp and onto an I-270 southbound lane was cut off by another driver, according to Maryland State Police.
Troopers say the male driver of the tractor trailer was forced to veer into guard rails, and the vehicle overturned.
“When you’re coming off of the ramp at regular speeds, estimated 30 miles-per-hour, it can’t just stop when a car pulls in front of it. So when the car pulls in front of tractor trailer, rather than strike the car, he decides to take it into the guard rail,” explained Capt. Mike Fluharty with Maryland State Police.
Troopers say the driver of the tractor trailer was transported to Meritus Medical Center for injuries, and that they have not been able to identify the other driver.
