A trio of men from Prince George’s County were sentenced on Tuesday for their roles in a series of brutal crimes from August 2017.

Karon Sayles, Bobby Johnson and Dalik Oxely will all be serving at least 40 years behind bars after terrorizing a family in Silver Spring.

The trio followed that family and then broke into their apartment home on Manchester Road by posing as repair men.

Their objective was to gain access to a nearby check cashing business that the family had ties to.

The ordeal lasted several hours and at one point, a knife was used to slash the throat of an adult resident, nearly killing him.

“They were given 50, 45 and 40 years respectively,” said Montgomery County State‘s Attorney spokesman Ramon Korionoff. “The three defendants, defendant Oxely, defendant Sayles and defendant Johnson were prosecuted to the fullest extent, gaining convictions on 40 counts for each of them.”

The charges against Oxely, Sayles and Johnson includes burglary, robbery, home invasion, kidnapping and assault.
