Eight school children have reportedly been hospitalized following a serious bus crash the morning of November 5 in Montgomery County.

The crash occurred near Olney on Norbeck Road as the bus was transporting middle schoolers to Farquhar Middle School.

According to police officials, none of the injured students nor the bus driver are suffering from life – threatening injuries.

The scene of the crash has since been re-opened to traffic.

Though bad weather did play a role in the crash, authorities also placed responsibility for the incident on a nearby trash truck driver.

“He lost control of his vehicle and the rear-end fish tailed into the east bound lane striking the front drivers side of the school bus,” said Public Information Officer Lucille Baur. “At this stage of the investigation it has been determined that the driver of the trash truck is the at fault driver and he has been cited.”

No arrests are expected to be made regarding the crash.
