FREDERICK, Md. (WDVM) — Seven homes have presumed a loss from a three-alarm fire at a townhouse complex in Frederick on Friday morning.
About 75 firefighters got the fire at Carrollton Drive under control in two hours, but crews will remain on the scene conducting clean up and overhaul, according to Frederick County, Maryland’s Division of Fire/Rescue Services.
Residents of the townhouse complex were evacuated. There have been no reported civilian injuries, three members of the fire department were taken to local hospitals for evaluation of exhaustion.
Seven fire crews responded to the scene, with fire apparatus from Frederick, Westview and Walkersville all working to contain the blaze.
South End Baptist Church has opened its facility to impacted residents and the Red Cross while information is being gathered. The number of people displaced is still being determined.
