Police in Montgomery County are asking for the publics’ help in tracking down the man who ripped off a Rockville gas station.

The adult male can be seen on surveillance footage entering the Exxon gas station on Norbeck Road.

The robbery took place just after midnight on Wednesday, December 5.

The suspect, whose face was covered with a mask, told the cashier he had a gun and to open the registers.

The suspect can be seen grabbing several handfuls of cash before fleeing the gas station on foot.

“What we recommend to people is try to make the best witness possible for the police,” said officer Rick Goodale. “Try to make as many mental notes as possible including what the suspect looked like, what he was wearing, what he sounds like. We are hoping maybe somebody can recognize the clothing and the jacket he was wearing. Maybe the way he walks. Something that somebody can recognize.”

Anyone with information on the suspect or the robbery is being asked to contact the major crimes division or the crime solvers of Montgomery County hotline.
