A Rockville dry cleaner closed with customer’s clothes still inside, but the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection is making sure customers don’t get hung out to dry.
Owners of Courtesy Custom Cleaners on Rollins Avenue in Rockville were notified they were going to be evicted last Wednesday, and that they should stop taking new orders. When officials went to the store on Friday, the business was still in operation.
Now, hundreds of pieces of clothes are still left inside. Customers were shocked when they showed up to drop off more clothes and found a closed sign on the door.
“I was stunned and unhappy. They’ve always given me great service here. I’ve never had buttons missing or anything else. It’s been terrific service,” said customer Mark Edelman.
The Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection is distributing the clothes that were left inside.
