UDPATE: Man identified who was found dead in Frederick park

The investigation is ongoing

FREDERICK, Md. - UPDATE: The person who was found dead on a playground set in Frederick, Maryland on Monday has been identified.

Kevin Cooper, 51, of Frederick was missing on the day he was found dead.  Police responded to Harmon Park on Winchester Street just after 1:30 p.m.
The cause of death is still unknown and will be determined by the by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. The investigation is ongoing.


The Frederick Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a body was found at a park on Monday afternoon. 

Police responded to Harmon Park on Winchester Street just after 1:30 p.m. Police said that a person called in and noticed the victim, an adult male, laying on the play set. The body has been transported to the Chief Medical Officer in Baltimore to determine the cause of death. 

Police do not have an identity yet.

"this particular park, the area of where the person was found is kind of secluded, so it is kind of a little bit of an explanation there to may that person may of been there for a little while,” said Lt. Kirk Henneberry with the Frederick Police Department.
