The Montgomery Parks Foundation held an unveiling of a new puppy playground at the Olney Manor Recreational Park. Officials say this is just one of their ways to reach out to the community.

Emily Southworth of Rivermist Pet Lodge said, “We donated a puppy playground to the park, and we’ve been working for the park foundation to try to figure out the best thing to contribute.”

At the ceremony, several puppies just could not get enough of the new playground. Some say it gave all the puppies a chance to bond.

About 50 puppies got a chance to play during the event. The general manager says it was a way to bring local residents together.

“Dogs love it. They get to run around and hide in it, and jump all over it, so we thought this would be a good fit to give something back to the community,” Southworth said.

Puppy parents loved the new feature because it kept their puppies busy.

Montgomery Parks has 421 parks in the county, and officials say the new playground brought life to this particular park in Olney. “It’s so nice to bring a new feature to the park, and to show everyone here that we do care and we’re listening – and we know you want more, and we’re trying to deliver that,” Jaclyn tells us.

The one-acre dog park also features separate play areas for both large and small dogs.
