Montgomery College applies to be RISE Zone

It would bring new businesses to the area

GERMANTOWN, Md. - Montgomery County Council members gave Montgomery College the go ahead to apply to a state program that should attract businesses to the county.

It's called the RISE Zone program. Montgomery College plans to apply to the state for its Germantown campus to become a rise zone. That means it's an area with ties to an educational institution and hopes to increase economic development.
